Built in the second half of the 1970s, the building housing Panzeri S.p.A.'s administrative and executive offices has been expanded and completely renovated, both from an architectural and a building systems perspective.
The extension involved the first-floor spaces and was carried out using a steel structure assembled on site, significantly reducing construction time while allowing production activities to continue uninterrupted during installation.
The new façade, made of a post-tensioned stainless steel mesh, defines the refurbishment intervention by unifying its compositional language in terms of both proportions and expression, while doubling its length along the entire frontage of the adjacent industrial building.
The new façade layer, defined by an overhanging steel-and-glass canopy, integrates and unifies the building's elevation while responding to two key aims: mitigating solar gain and glare on the south-oriented glazing, and renewing the company’s image through a contemporary architectural language.
The redesign also involved the entrance, with the creation of a stone staircase enclosed between two masonry walls, as well as the interiors, through a careful selection of colors, materials, and finishes.
