The Sibilia Conference Hall project is the first intervention within a multi-year program to refurbish Villa Raimondi, headquarters of the Minoprio Foundation. It includes a complete redesign of functional and building systems.
Previously used for conferences, the space was converted into a 300-seat conference hall with exhibition rooms and a foyer. The acoustic cladding and wall paneling, which integrate the lighting systems and fixed furnishings, were all custom-designed.
The foyer, introduced as part of the refurbishment program and overlooking the villa’s internal courtyard, has become the representational focal point of the hall, while also providing access to support spaces such as the cloakroom, the café area, a 70-seat multipurpose room, and the restrooms.
The mezzanine level houses the control rooms, as well as the simultaneous interpretation booths and recording facilities.
The timber cladding of the hall envelope, made of sound-absorbing oak panels with milled and smooth finishes and flush doors, also defines the architectural character of the spaces adjacent to the main hall.
