The functional redevelopment and conservation program promoted by the Regione Lombardia involved Villa Raimondi following the completion of the adjacent Sala Sibilia in 2007.
The restoration of the original ground-floor interiors made it possible to rediscover the original colors of the decorative elements and the terrazzo floors, characteristic of the rural houses of the Como area.
The functional reorganization of the spaces provides, on the ground floor, areas for events and exhibitions. The first floor houses operational and managerial offices, meeting rooms, and service areas.
The restoration was carried out through the conservative consolidation of the plasterwork and the recovery of the building’s simple original decorative features.
The only alterations concerned the construction of external stone ramps and the insertion of a lift system to ensure access to the different levels for users with reduced mobility.
Particular attention was also given to the night-time lighting of the façades and entrance porticoes, achieved through the installation of low-impact lighting systems positioned under the eaves.
